THE PUZZLE JAR
Eleanor could almost remember a time when she would bound down the hallway early in the morning to find her parents happily awaiting her in the kitchen, at least she felt like that was how it should have been. In truth, she only had small fragments of memory of her past life, the life where her father was still alive and her mother was herself. Eleanor was sure of one thing, the lady walking toward her bedroom at that moment was not her Mother, it was her shadow.
Twelve–year–old Eleanor Ryam is burdened by her secrets, scared of what she doesn't understand, alone in her small life and hoping that the townsfolk won’t notice her Mother is anything other than ill. The town, Claven, is shrouded in a strange fog, from the beginning it went unnoticed and later unspoken. Recently the townsfolk have begun referring to the fog as a curse, and a curse is something to fear.
THE PUZZLE JAR is a fantasy novel with a fairytale slant, set in a period when talk of real magic and witchcraft had faded into folklore.
